Job Details

Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, is looking for an organised and highly motivated individual to be his Parliamentary Assistant/Researcher. You will be a key member of the team with responsibility for the smooth operation of the Westminster Office.

Supporting Greg’s work as a Member of Parliament: researching issues and preparing briefings, speeches, articles and parliamentary questions and motions and working on national campaigns; assisting constituency staff with matters requiring parliamentary action.
Identifying opportunities to promote and extend Greg’s work, maximising coverage in the media and on social media.
Ensuring that the Westminster office runs smoothly, including managing Greg’s London diary and travel, providing support at meetings, supervising interns and making arrangements for visitors.


• excellent research and written and oral communication skills;
• ability to prioritise work in a busy office, meeting tight deadlines;
• ability to work on own initiative, and as part of a small committed team;
• strong administrative and organisational skills;
• proficiency in the use of IT and social media;
• willingness to carry out day-to-day tasks;
• sympathetic to the values and aims of the Liberal Democrats.

Experience of working in Parliament, of working with the media, and press and of diary management would be an advantage.
